on ALS/MND!  | NEALS News NEALS is pleased to announce that Neuralstem, Inc., a stem cell company based in Maryland, has contracted NEALS to run the first FDA-cleared study using in-human spinal stem cell transplant intended for the treatment of ALS. Dr. Eva Feldman, MD, PhD, Director of the University of Michigan Health System ALS Clinic and the Program for Neurology Research & Discovery, is the Principal Investigator on the study. Dr. Merit Cudkowicz, NEALS Co-chair and the Lead Investigator for KNOPP Neurosciences, presented results of the phase 2 study entitled; "A 2-part, randomized, double-blind, safety and tolerability study evaluating KNS-760704 in patients with ALS", at the 20th International Symposium on ALS/MND in Berlin, Germany on Monday, December 07, 2009. The NEALS Consortium is currently working with KNOPP Neurosciences on an open-label extension protocol and phase 3 study planning.
